I’ve had many clients ask why or if fluorescence matters, so I thought I’d put together this video as a demonstration.
You can see the stone without fluorescence has so much more fire, while the high fluorescence stone looks “milky”.
Both are K-color, yet you may notice that high fluorescence stones look less yellow. Although the fluorescence actually helps with color, the exchange is that you lose a lot of the sparkle and end up with a sleepy rock.
I repeat a point / u / diamond dealer has made about this sub many times before – when you lose the luster and sparkle of a diamond, you lose a huge amount of its beauty. It’s often a bad deal!
